Bohol Island State University – Main Campus (BISU-MC) once again proved its excellence after garnering several awards at the 3rd Council of Management Educators and Professionals in the Philippines, Inc. (COMEPP) Visayas Region Conference, held on April 24–25, 2025, at the Senior High School Bldg. of University of Cebu – Banilad Campus, Gov. Cuenco Avenue, Barangay Kasambagan, Cebu City.

Bohol Island State University Main Campus is ranked third as Top Performing School with a National Passing Percentage of 61.37% and 89.58% Institutional Passing Percentage, and Roy Germy C. Calamba, RME of Calape Campus for being ranked as top 2 on the April 2025 Registered Master Electricians Licensure Examination.

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) of BISU Main Campus celebrated a remarkable milestone as it held its 2nd Founding Anniversary in conjunction with the Academic Year-End Evaluation and COPC Strategic Workshop at JJ’s Seafood Village on April 7, 2025. The event brought together faculty members, students, and university officials for a day of reflection, recognition, and academic foresight.

Bohol Island State University is honored to be recognized as one of the top-performing Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) in the country. This prestigious recognition was awarded at the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education (EQUATE) Awards, held on April 2, 2025, at the Manila Hotel.

The IPOPHL (Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines), in collaboration with Innovation and Technology Support Offices, proudly conferred the awards to ITSO members who have met the requirements under the ITSO 2.0 Clustering Scheme during the ITSO Presidents’ Summit and General Assembly on April 10, 2025 at Sequioa Hotel Manila Bay, Parañaque City.

The Visayas Steno, Keyboarding, and Quiz Bowl 2025 drew participants from a diverse array of esteemed institutions across the region, including the BISU network (Bilar, Candijay, and Main Campuses), Central Philippine Adventist College (CPAC), Eastern Visayas State University-Main Campus (EVSU), Negros Oriental State University-Main Campus (NORSU), Tagbilaran City College (TCC), and Trinidad Municipal College (TMC).

BISU Main Campus, along with BISU Bilar and BISU Candijay campuses, received the Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education Award. These multiple awards serve as recognition of BISU’s consistent upholding of the highest standard in ensuring the quality of pre-service teacher education programs

In the recent International Medical Physiology Quiz competition among medical schools nationwide and international medical schools from Australia, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, and more, BISU SoM students reached the semi-finals. This achievement is another milestone for the School of Medicine in its first year of operation.

On March 21, the BISU University Planning Office and the University Information Office successfully conducted a Waste Management Information, Education, and Communication (or IEC) Workshop, at JJ’s Seafood Village, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

Congratulations to our BISU 4th-year Industrial Design student, James Carl H. Requillo, for winning 1st place in the PhilHealth Region 7 Digital Poster Making Contest 2024!
