Tourism and Hospitality Management (THM) Faculty members under the (CBM) College of Business and Management, conducted faculty immersion at the Astoria Culinary and Hospitality Institute situated at Astoria Palawan, San Rafael, Puerto Princesa, Palawan last July 5-13, 2025. The Faculty Immersion Program is a key component of the CHED STEP-UP (Sustainable for Tertiary Education Program Upgrading Project) Grant.

The Department of Tourism (DOT) held the Filipino Brand of Service and Excellence (FBSE) Recognition and Awards Program on July 21, 2025, through the FBSE Summit 2025 at The Bellevue Hotel – Manila, Alabang. The event honored outstanding individuals, institutions, and partners for their valuable contributions to the country’s flagship service excellence initiative.

Bohol Island State University was honored with the Public-Academic Alliance Award in grateful recognition of its unwavering commitment to collaborative engagement with the City Government of Tagbilaran. The university’s support in advancing transf ormative education, promoting responsive governance, and enabling sustainable community development exemplifies the true spirit of civic-academic synergy.

Bohol Island State University – Main Campus proudly hosted the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) on July 15, 2025. This was conducted for a significant onsite validation visit in line with its application for the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) to offer the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) program.

BISU College of Arts and Sciences faculty member Mark Steven A. Pandan (MA candidate) was one of the four featured guest speakers at the Saliklinang Research Workshop on Trust and Media, themed “Writing Together, Thinking Together,” held at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) Library’s Silid Lakan Dayang from July 7–9, 2025.

Bohol Island State University (BISU) officially breached the Top 400 World University Ranking for Innovation (WURI) Global Innovative Universities list, securing 398th for 2025.

This year’s WURI rankings saw more than a thousand universities around the world vie for a spot on the global innovative universities list, with nearly 5,000 programs submitted by participating educational institutions from 87 countries.

Brian Poe Llamanzares, PhD, MNSA, led the second day of the 92nd Commencement Exercises of Bohol Island State University Main Campus with this commencement address to prepare the graduates for the complex and dynamic world ahead.

Llamanzares, representative-elect of the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist, challenged the graduates to “lead with empathy, think critically, [and] rise with dignity.” He adds: “Ang tunay na tao ay lumalaban para sa tama.”

“It is now your turn to leave a positive legacy—pamana to your family, to your community, to your institution, to our country.”
