The event drew board secretaries and administrative leaders from state universities and colleges (SUCs) across the country to engage in discussions centered on improving governance, fostering productivity, and sharing best practices.
BISU was well-represented by Dr. Arceli M. Hernando, Vice President for Administration and Finance and the concurrent University and Board Secretary; Mr. Eric Jhon E. Auguis, Chief of Staff to the Office of the President; Engr. Phillip Glenn Libay, Information Technology Officer; and Ms. Sarah Dongel, Administrative Assistant III.

On September 24-25, 2024, Bohol Island State University (BISU) embarked on a significant benchmarking visit to three (3) prominent higher education institutions in the Visayas: Visayas State University (VSU), Leyte Normal University (LNU), and Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU). This academic endeavor aimed to study and assess best practices in three pivotal areas: Administrative Support Services at VSU, Green Campus Initiatives and Futures Thinking Strategies at both LNU and EVSU.

In the recent International Medical Physiology Quiz competition among medical schools nationwide and international medical schools from Australia, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, and more, BISU SoM students reached the semi-finals. This achievement is another milestone for the School of Medicine in its first year of operation.

This year’s theme: “Advancing the Competitiveness of SUCs for National Development”, is a reiteration of PASUC’s commitment in advancing the competitiveness of State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) to drive national development.

Bohol Island State University School of Medicine ranked 7th among medical schools nationwide in the Medical Biochemistry Quiz Bee competition.

BISU officials welcomed Dr. Thu-Hua Liu, President of Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT) from Taiwan on June 6 to discuss possible exchange programs.

Bohol Island State University proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of Stella Mae Josol, a distinguished alumna of the Bachelor of Elementary Education program at BISU Main Campus. In the March 2024 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) – Elementary Level, she achieved an impressive 90.60% rating, securing 10th place nationwide.
