RCE-Bohol Strengthens Sustainability Efforts Through PCSD Benchmarking Visit
The Regional Center of Expertise-Bohol (RCE-Bohol), an initiative of Bohol Island State University (BISU) under the leadership of its Director, Dr. Bernabe M. Mijares, Jr., conducted a benchmarking visit to the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) on November 21-22, 2024.

Faculty Workshop Highlights the Art of Grant Writing and Journal Editing
City – In a concerted effort to address pressing infrastructure challenges and foster academic excellence, the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) of BISU Main Campus held a transformative workshop on November 13, 2024, at JJ’s Seafood Village, Tagbilaran City. Titled “Mastering the Art of Grant Writing and Journal Editing: A Comprehensive Workshop for the Faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences,” the event brought together faculty members to hone their skills in securing grants and publishing scholarly work.

BISU Joins DOST STAR Twinning C.A.M.P in Manila
Selected Mathematics and Science Education faculty members from the different campuses of Bohol Island State University participated in the DOST STAR Twinning C.A.M.P. (Capacitating and Mentoring Program) at the City Garden Grand Hotel in Makati, Manila on November 8-10, 2024.
The Twinning Project is a three-year capability enhancement initiative. The project aims to foster mutual support, professional growth, and community-building through the sharing of best practices in instruction, research, and extension activities.

Bohol Island State University Joins NASUCS Conference and General Assembly 2024 in Puerto Princesa
The event drew board secretaries and administrative leaders from state universities and colleges (SUCs) across the country to engage in discussions centered on improving governance, fostering productivity, and sharing best practices.
BISU was well-represented by Dr. Arceli M. Hernando, Vice President for Administration and Finance and the concurrent University and Board Secretary; Mr. Eric Jhon E. Auguis, Chief of Staff to the Office of the President; Engr. Phillip Glenn Libay, Information Technology Officer; and Ms. Sarah Dongel, Administrative Assistant III.

Bohol Island State University Conducts Strategic Benchmarking Visit to VSU, LNU, and EVSU
On September 24-25, 2024, Bohol Island State University (BISU) embarked on a significant benchmarking visit to three (3) prominent higher education institutions in the Visayas: Visayas State University (VSU), Leyte Normal University (LNU), and Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU). This academic endeavor aimed to study and assess best practices in three pivotal areas: Administrative Support Services at VSU, Green Campus Initiatives and Futures Thinking Strategies at both LNU and EVSU.

In the recent International Medical Physiology Quiz competition among medical schools nationwide and international medical schools from Australia, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, and more, BISU SoM students reached the semi-finals.
