BISU Recognized as a CHED Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awardee
Bohol Island State University (BISU) proudly marks its first-ever recognition as a CHED Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awardee—an important milestone that highlights the University’s growing global presence and commitment to internationalization.
This distinction follows BISU’s inclusion in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI), an international index that celebrates higher education institutions demonstrating significant real-world contributions, societal impact, and innovative practices.
BISU extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Commission on Higher Education for this commendation. The award affirms BISU’s unwavering dedication to advancing excellence in higher education, research, community engagement, and transformative learning experiences for its students.

The award was received by University President Dr. Anthony M. Penaso and the University Director on Internationalization, Dr. Francis A. Delusa, on December 10, 2025, at the Philippine International Convention Center.
