BISU Hosts 3rd and 4th Online Accreditation Survey by AACCUP, Inc.
Bohol Island State University (BISU) continues to uphold its commitment to quality assurance and academic excellence as it hosted the 3rd and 4th Online Accreditation Survey of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc. via Zoom on September 29–30, 2025 and October 3, 2025.
The virtual survey brought together AACCUP accreditors, key university officials, administrators, faculty, and staff from BISU Main Campus and its satellite campuses in Bilar, Calape, Candijay, and Clarin, along with representatives from other participating universities across the country.

Day 1: Opening of the Accreditation Survey
The first day of the survey, held on September 29, marked the official opening of the 3rd and 4th online accreditation cycle. University officials and accreditors convened to reaffirm BISU’s mission of sustaining high academic standards and institutional growth.
The sessions focused on reviewing institutional documents, assessing performance indicators, and aligning program objectives with AACCUP’s quality benchmarks.
Day 2: BS Architecture and Library Units Present
On September 30, the BS Architecture program and the BISU Main Library took center stage in separate breakout sessions as part of the leveling-off and accreditation proper.
These presentations formed a vital part of BISU’s ongoing accreditation efforts, with other units set to follow in the next sessions. Faculty, administrators, and staff actively participated, demonstrating the university’s strong spirit of collaboration in advancing quality education.
MAEd Program Highlights Afternoon Session
The afternoon session featured the Master of Arts in Education (MAEd) program of BISU Main Campus, which presented its Instruction Compliance Report before AACCUP accreditors.
In attendance were Dr. Manuel Jr. Sanchez, AACCUP Overall Coordinator, along with accreditors Dr. Ninez B. Tulo and Dr. Job Paguio, as well as various stakeholders and university representatives.
The session highlighted BISU’s ongoing efforts to ensure instructional quality and compliance with AACCUP standards, underscoring its commitment to academic excellence.


Closing of the Accreditation Survey Visit
The 3rd and 4th Online Accreditation Survey Visit of AACCUP, Inc. officially concluded on October 3, 2025, marking the successful completion of another significant phase in BISU’s accreditation journey.
University President Dr. Anthony M. Penaso extended his gratitude to the accreditors, university officials, faculty, staff, students, and stakeholders whose collective efforts made the visit possible. He emphasized that “quality assurance is not a one-time event, but a continuing journey toward academic excellence.”
The closing program underscored the importance of collaboration, resilience, and the shared responsibility of sustaining academic standards across all campuses.
Continuing the Journey Toward Excellence
As BISU moves forward from this milestone, the entire university system remains steadfast in reinforcing a culture of continuous improvement. Each presentation, assessment, and dialogue with accreditors contributes to strengthening its quality assurance framework.
