Bicol University Strengthens Academic Ties Through Benchmarking Visit to Bohol Island State University
On July 4, 2025, a delegation from Bicol University, led by Dr. Lorna M. Miña, Dean of the College of Education, conducted a benchmarking visit to Bohol Island State University (BISU). The activity took place at the Fabrication Laboratory Bohol (FabLab Bohol) and was graciously hosted by BISU’s Office of the University President, together with the Office of the Vice President for Academics and Quality Assurance Office, and the Benchmarking Committee in coordination with BISU’s College of Teacher Education.
The program began with a warm welcome message from Dr. Maria Lilibeth Castil, Vice President for Academics and Quality Assurance. Bicol University’s Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Lorna Miña, then delivered the Statement of Purpose and introduced the faculty members of the Bicol University delegation.
A key highlight of the visit was the sharing of best practices between the two institutions through the meet-and-greet exchange of knowledge. Dr. Girlie Valeroso, Chairperson of Secondary Education of BISU’s College of Teacher Education, gave an insightful presentation on behalf of Dr. Renario Hinampas, Jr., Dean of the BISU College of Education. This was followed by an interactive open forum that fostered meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
Concluded with closing remarks and an expression of gratitude from Ms. Benita Hugo, MAEd, of Bicol University, the benchmarking program was also capped with a photo opportunity to commemorate the successful visit.
