BISU Receives DOST-NCRP Engagement Achievement Award

For two consecutive years, Bohol Island State University (BISU) has been recognized by the Department of Science and Technology–National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST–NRCP) for its exemplary performance in research and development, earning the Engagement Achievement Award for 2025.

Bohol Island State University (BISU) has been conferred the “Engagement Achievement Award” by the Department of Science and Technology–National Research Council of the Philippines (DOST–NRCP) in recognition of its outstanding performance in research and development.

The award was presented during the 2025 RDLead Conference and Year-end Assembly of the DOST-NRCP held on December 17, 2025, at the Grand Westside Hotel, Parañaque City. BISU achieved one of the highest research index scores among higher education institutions under the General Capacity Development category for 2025, based on the number of approved research grants, implemented projects, and personnel actively engaged in research activities.

The Plaque of Recognition was awarded to BISU and its RD Leader, Dr. Esperanza Maribel G. Agoo, whose leadership has played a vital role in strengthening the University’s research culture and institutional engagement with national research initiatives.

This recognition underscores BISU’s sustained efforts to institutionalize research, increase faculty and staff participation in scholarly activities, and align its research agenda with national development priorities. The University remains committed to advancing impactful research and fostering partnerships that support innovation, knowledge generation, and inclusive development.
