Another Milestone Achieved: BISU Hosts Onsite Validation Visit for Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC)

Bohol Island State University – Main Campus proudly hosted the Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) on July 15, 2025. This was conducted for a significant onsite validation visit in line with its application for the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) to offer the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) program.
The activity marked a pivotal moment in BISU’s continuous commitment to academic excellence and regulatory compliance. Leading the university delegation were Dr. Samuel J. Gulayan, Campus Director of BISU Main Campus; Dr. Renario G. Hinampas, Jr., Dean of the College of Teacher Education; Dr. Maria Lilibeth G. Castil, Vice President for Academics and Quality Assurance; and dedicated faculty members from the BPEd program, headed by Chairperson Ms. Lady Vi Mae Turan.
The event also welcomed the distinguished members of the RQAT, headed by Dr. Bernard S. Pantonilla, Education Supervisor III of CHEDRO VII, and Dr. Rex T. Argate, Dean of the College of Teacher Education at the University of Cebu – Main Campus.

The RQAT team then presented their initial findings, offering commendations for the university’s program strengths and overall preparedness. Their insights serve as a valuable guide for BISU’s continued enhancement of its curricular offerings, instructional delivery, and physical infrastructure. These findings play a crucial role in guiding the university as it aligns its programs and facilities with the standards set by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) for the Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC). The validation affirmed BISU’s adherence to key CHED requirements, positioning the university favorably for the granting of the COPC for the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) program.
