“Continue, Have Faith!” BISU Calape Honors Parents, Recognizes 2025 Grad Achievers

The month-long 2025 graduation season of Bohol Island State University (BISU) continues, this time in the gymnasium of the municipality of Calape, province of Bohol, where the candidates for the 41st Commencement Exercises of BISU Calape converged for their Recognition of Awardees and Tribute to Parents.

The rites began with the candidates for graduation presented by the different deans of BISU Calape – college deans Dr. Mae A. Evardo, Dr. Marigen E. Toraja, and Mr. Christian Rolon C. Laurden, MFT – to BISU Calape Campus Director Dr. Roxanne Altea. The campus director then proudly confirmed the candidates for recognition.

This year’s graduates come from the diverse array of quality programs offered annually by BISU Calape: Bachelor of Science in Industrial technology (Major in Food Preparation Services and Technology), Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (Major in Electrical Technology), Bachelor of Elementary Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education (Major in Mathematics), Bachelor of Secondary Education (Major in English), Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, and Bachelor of Science in Fisheries.

Afterwards, the campus director, joined by University President Dr. Anthony Penaso and BISU Calape campus registrar Rusola S. Tesorio, minted select candidates for their academic and non-academic awards.

In a moving speech, Dr. Milabel Enriquez-Ho, RN, the executive director of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP), Inc., and this year’s recognition rites guest speaker for BISU Calape, gave a beautiful spotlight to the parents and loved ones.

Dr. Enriquez-Ho reminded the upcoming graduates that upon achieving their dreams in their chosen paths, they must always look back at their families and loved ones who have helped them succeed. “When you get there, don’t forget that when you get down, it will always be the same people who have brought you up,” the guest speaker shared.

After a testimony from parent Mr. Lerey Mercado and the candidates’ response from BS-IT Electrical Technology grad candidate Jomar B. Corambis, the candidates sang their hearts out in their tribute songs for their parents and loved ones, capping the lovely morning with a spirit of heartfelt gratitude.
