Hon. Angel Enriquez: The Harder Your Experience, The Sweeter Are Your Victories

The 2025 Commencement Exercises of BISU Clarin Campus were honored with the presence of its commencement speaker, Regional Executive Director (RED) Angel C. Enriquez, CESO III of the Department of Agriculture Region 7.

Dir. Enriquez, an honorable member of the Board of Regents of Bohol Island State University, is a career public servant with 37 years of experience under her belt, ranging from administrative matters to top-level management as regional executive. During her stint as the regional executive director for the department in the region, she was instrumental in making the rice production of Central Visayas Top 1 in the whole country in terms of percentage increase in area harvested, production and yield in the year 2023.

In her speech, Dir. Enriquez reminds the enthused graduates of the importance of perseverance. “It is not just the results that matter, but your experiences and strides that set the scene for the results,” she says.

“And the harder your experiences and strides are, the sweeter are your victories.”

She challenges them to not let the realities and hardships of life stop them from dreaming. “Keep dreaming, but more than just dreaming, do something about your dreams. Turn those into realities.”

She ends her commencement address with a command to the graduates to enjoy the moment. “But for now, at this very moment, reward yourself and savor your success for accomplishing this life’s milestone.”
