Consultative Meeting with Comm. Jo Mark M. Libre, DPA, CHED Commissioner and Chairman BISU Board of Regents
Tagbilaran City – Bohol Island State University was graced with the presence of CHED Commissioner and Chairman of the BISU Board of Regents, Hon. Jo Mark M. Libre on November 25, 2022 at the Activity Center, BISU Main Campus, for a Consultative Meeting. With him were, Atty. Ronnie B. Azura, Representative of the Office of Senator Francis Joseph “Chiz” Escudero, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Higher, Technical, and Vocational Education; and ZPPSU President, JRMSU OIC-President, and PASUC Mindanao Vice-President Dr. Nelson P. Cabral.
The meeting was also participated by the University Officials headed by our University President Dr. Anthony M. Penaso; Faculty, Staff, and Students of BISU Main Campus, and Representatives from the different campuses.
During the Meeting, Dr. Edward C. Anuta the University Planning Director presented a 10-year developmental plan which includes a list of infrastructure projects for BISU Main Campus and Bingag Extension. Hon. Libre is confident that with Dr. Penaso as its University President, BISU will have state-of-the-art facilities in the next 10 years.
In connection to that, Atty. Azura also vowed to bring the voice of BISU to the Senate for funding of these various projects. Dr. Cabral also added that BISU is lucky to have Dr. Penaso as its President, with his vast amount of experience and network, the University’s developmental plans will be realized in due time.
The Faculty and Staff were also given the chance to voice their issues and concerns in an Open Forum. Hon. Libre assured them that all these would be given priority in the coming BISU Board of Regents meetings.
The consultative meeting ended with a photo opportunity with the honored guests and the singing of the BISU Hymn.
